CQC Inspection Press Release

We were very pleased to have been part of the pilot for the new style inspection process by the CQC. We valued this experience and are delighted that the report reflects and acknowledges our existing good practice, as well as helping us to focus on areas for improvement. It also provided us with the opportunity to feed back to the CQC our experiences of the approach taken in this pilot and how this model could be enhanced.

Modus is proud of its culture of openness and transparency in delivering high quality care and support to vulnerable individuals with complex needs. It was positive to see the inclusion of those of significance to the service user such as families, advocates and external professionals, who already play a key role in the delivery and review of our current services

We welcome appraisal and constructive criticism and whilst recognising that inspection can often be an intense process we were pleased with the positive feedback in both the draft and final report. Particularly satisfying was the acknowledgement in the findings that our practises are recognised as being in line with best practice and entirely non-abusive. The areas noted for improvement were ones which, through our own internal quality audits, we have already begun to address; most significantly the increased use of Person Centred Planning.

We will continue to audit, evaluate and improve all of what we do, and to expand the range of opportunities we offer to the people we support.
