Panorama Documentary

The findings of the Panorama programme “Undercover Care: The Abuse Exposed”, have left us all at Modus Care deeply shocked, saddened and disappointed. First and foremost our thoughts are with the individuals concerned and their families.

The undercover report by Paul Kenyon reminds us how badly wrong things can go when harmful working cultures are left unchallenged.

At Modus Care we pride ourselves on having a positive culture with effective leadership and good practice, excellent governance, the support of clearly defined and robust policies and procedures, sound recruitment and quality training and transparency within our services.  Additionally, our service users have access to independent advocacy and complaints information. The devastating experiences of the vulnerable people exposed in the Panorama programme remind us also of the importance of open involvement of service users, their families, the professionals involved with them and those who commission their services in continuing to improve the services we provide.

We would like to offer our support, in any way we can, to anyone affected by this programme, either directly or indirectly. We also welcome the opportunity to work with others, such as other providers, commissioners, carers and not least service users to share and develop strategies, protocols and increased safeguards to ensure that this kind of practice is never seen again.
